Shards

I crush myself under my own weight,
my legs have become so numb.
The mask heals and harms,
it has attached itself to my heart.
You laugh, boast, brag,
That look on your face.
It will disappear into the dust.
My perseverance,
my determination,
my effort.
They are the blade.
My arms,
My hand,
My strength.
They are the hilt.
I shove it into my mask,
My heart hurts...
Bleed it out.
The shards?
I'm to blame.
And yet,
Watch out.

From under the ground comes the sharpened blade. You cannot run. You cannot hide. You cannot continue with your ignorance. Your foolish confidence. Your sense of security.

Will be shattered.
